27 men, women and children brutally killed. Their bodies spread out by the shores of a lagoon. This mass killing -- which happened some ten thousand years ago-- is the earliest evidence of deadly violence between prehistoric hunter-gatherers. The results of that discovery, made in 2012, have just been published in the journal Nature. The research was co-authored by Professor Robert Foley of Cambridge University, here in the UK :
