A glass of South African red or white wine is one of life's great pleasures but not many know about the harsh labour practices of the wine industry during apartheid. Workers were paid with cheap wine - it came to be known as the 'tot' system. Things have largely improved - take the example of the 23 workers who now own part of the Nagenoeg wine farm. They have called the 32 hectares 'Enaleni', which is Zulu for place of abundance, and they are producing their own grapes, processing them and bottling them. The 麻豆社's Mohammed Allie went along to the farm to meet the workers and sent this report from Cape Town.
