Emir of Kano condemns abduction of child bride
In Nigeria, a story has been trending on social media around #FreeEse. It raises issues of child protection and child brides.
Ese is a young girl who was abducted in 2015 at the age of 13 from near her home in the southern state of Bayelsa and reportedly forced into marriage.
Her parents have traced her whereabouts to the northern city of Kano but her alleged captor has refused to release her.
The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi condemned the abduction.
