Sierra Leone artist talks about his song "Chinese" on Focus on Africa
Much has been said and written in recent years about Africa's ever-closer relationship with China, but now we're about to hear a song about the continent's consumption of huge quantities of manufactured products, including modern fashion wear. Ronald Sesay in Freetown hears from young musician, Block Jones, on this part of the relationship, which goes hand in hand with China being a big importer of African raw materials like iron ore, copper, oil, and so on. Block's song is simply called "Chinese".
