J.K. Rowling's chair has been sold for 拢279,000
The chair that J.K. Rowling sat on to write the first two Harry Potter books has been sold at auction for $394,000 (拢279,000).
The seller Gerald Gray is from Manchester and he bought the unassuming oak chair back in 2009 for a mere 拢20,000.
He said he won the auction "by accident" after bidding on the chair in the last five minutes of the online auction.
Gerald and his wife will donate 10% of the profit they made to JK Rowling's children's charity.
