Liberian ex-footballer George Weah to run for president again
Liberian ex-footballer George Weah has announced his intention to run for president of Liberia for a second time in 2017. Mr Weah, who played for several top European clubs, including AC Milan, Chelsea, Man City and Paris Sainte Germaine and was crowned FIFA player of the year in 1995, first ran for office in 2005 the year he quit the game. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf beat him then.
He became a Senator in 2014 but his critics say he has been largely ineffective in office and doubt he could run the country.The 麻豆社's Jonathan Paye-Layleh put this view to Mr Weah when he spoke to him at his party's rally in Monrovia.
