In the studio with Kidum
One of Burundi's biggest music stars, Kidum started out as a drummer in Burundi, working with several different bands before leaving the country when war broke out.
He has been based in Kenya since 1995, but remains popular at home, and has performed in Burundi many times since his first album Yaramenje was released in 2001. Kidum sings mainly in his mother tongue Kirundi, and in Kiswahili.
