UN peacekeepers and the US Embassy have been accused of failing to respond when a compound used by foreign aid workers in Juba was attacked by armed men last month.

Several women were raped, men were beaten and a South Sudanese journalist was shot dead in cold blood. It followed days of fighting between government troops and forces loyal to sacked Vice President Riek Machar.
