Retailer WHSmith has put its strong high street performance in 2016 down to sales of adult colouring books.

Adrian Greenwood is Deputy Managing Director of Michael O鈥橫ara books, one of the adult colouring book suppliers of WHSmith. He told 5 live Money鈥檚 Colletta Smith that colouring book sales 鈥渙utstripped other areas, such as fiction鈥�.

Adrian went on to say books, which are marketed as colour therapy relaxation aids, "hit the right note with consumers鈥� who wanted to take breaks from other recreational activities, like watching TV.
