The detective leading the investigation into the disappearance of 21-month-old Ben Needham, who went missing on the Greek Island of Kos in 1991, has said 鈥渋t鈥檚 not case closed鈥�.

Earlier this week, police said they believe Ben died in an accident after a toy car thought to belong to him was found near where he went missing.

Ben鈥檚 sister Leigh Anna has said that 鈥渨ithout definite proof, there is still hope鈥� that he is alive.

Detective Inspector Jon Cousins of South Yorkshire police told 5 live that police are 鈥渟till looking at everything that comes forward from now on鈥� and 鈥渋t鈥檚 not a closed case鈥�.

However, he added that that an accident is believed to be 鈥渢he most probable cause of Ben鈥檚 disappearance鈥�.
