Fairer sex more foul-mouthed than men
Women in Britain swear up to ten times more often than men, a new study says.
Researchers from Lancaster University and the Cambridge University Press say women are ten times more likely to say 鈥榮h**鈥 than men and use the word 鈥榝***鈥 four times as often as they did in the early 1990s.
5 live Drive spoke to comedian Jane Godley who is, in her own words, a 鈥減rolific swearer鈥.
She said: 鈥淥ne of the first questions I get asked when I say I鈥檓 a comedian is do you swear 鈥 they wouldn鈥檛 ask that to a man鈥.
鈥淛ust because I do it in my Scottish accent, and I鈥檓 working class, it sounds like I mean it more,鈥 she added.
