The life of Seychelles' founding president, Sir James Mancham
Tributes have been pouring in for the founding President of Seychelles, Sir James Mancham.
Sir Mancham was overthrown just a year after leading the islands to independence from Britain in 1976, he was known as a bit of a 'playboy president' who wanted the islands to be known for their beauty and romance.
In his final interview with Focus on Africa's Tim Ecott he expressed dismay at the way Britain had treated him when he was overthrown in the coup d'etat of 1977
