'I feel like a new person with my prosthetic arms'

Mariam Staford Bandaba is a Tanzanian farmer who survived an attack in 2008 by men who wanted sell her body parts for witchcraft. The UN's modest estimates indicate that between 2000 and 2015, around 75 people with albinism have been murdered, and many others had their body parts maimed in similar attacks.

Mariam was five months pregnant at the time of her ordeal, and lost the baby. Years later, the Canadian charity Under the Same Sun arranged for Mariam to go to Canada, where she has been fitted with prosthetic arms.
