SNP: Government 'can't rip up the Barnett formula'
The deputy Westminster leader of the SNP has said the UK government "cannot rip up the Barnett formula in order to secure 10 votes in parliament".
The Barnett formula is a system which dictates the level of public spending in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Under it, extra funding - or cuts - from Westminster are allocated according to the population size of each nation and which powers are devolved to them.
Kirsty Blackman told Martha Kearney if the UK government agreed to a 拢2bn investment in Northern Ireland in order to secure a deal with the DUP "we would expect to see a similar level of funding per head of population going to Scotland".
