Nnedi Okorafor is a Nigerian-American writer who weaves African culture into her creative writing.

Her book, Who Fears Death, has just been optioned by the American cable television network HBO, which means it is in early development to be turned into a TV series.

Nnedi writes mainly science fiction and 'magical realism' for adults and children. She told Focus on Africa's Kim Chakenetsa that her stories are firmly rooted in her African heritage.
