Unwanted: the stories of Rwanda's war-time rape victims
Unwanted is a production that combines song, dance and words to tell the stories of the hundreds of thousands of rape victims of the Rwanda genocide.
Many of the women decided, against great opposition, to give birth to and raise the children of those rapes.
The dance recently had its New York premiere at the Baryshnikov Arts Center, where its author, Rwandan-born Doroth茅e Munyaneza, had an artist's residency last spring.
Doroth茅e spoke to Leslie Goffe for Focus on Africa.
