Ghana deploys heavy security to police Yaa Naa funerals in the north
The high security presence, ahead of the funeral of the paramount chief of the Dagomba people, is necessary because of a 2 decades old succession feud. Enmity between 2 competing royal families resulted in the assassination in 2002 of Yaa Naa Yakubu Andani II says security analyst Dr. Kwesi Aning. But a sequence of funerals is aimed at defusing the feud.
