Is it the 'end game' for Sudan's President Bashir?
President Bashir appointed a fact-finding mission to investigate the deaths of protesters over the last two weeks. Figures of 30 and more have been mentioned by organisations like Amnesty International. The official opposition, the Umma Party, says 45 people have been killed, hundreds injured and thousands more arrested. Majjdi Al-Jizuli is a Sudanese analyst based in Germany and he describes the probe as no more than "window dressing".
