"They are different...they are daring"
Staff at the University of Khartoum, the country's oldest and most respected higher education establishment, have added their voice to nationwide protests. They condemned the shooting of peaceful demonstrators and backed proposals for a transitional transfer of power. Professor Fadwa Ali Taha is an historian explains what is different about this uprising in contrast to the Sudan's previous uprisings of 1964 and 1985.
