Uganda has a new musical instrument
Feeling limited by the traditional Adungu, a musical instrument traditionally played in Uganda, musician James Ssewakiryanga, commonly known as Ssewa Ssewa, decided that improving on the original wasn't enough, so he set off building a new string instrument from scratch. The 'Janzi' was born. It sounds a bit like a guitar, but it offers much richer tones, thanks to its 22 strings, it requires more dexterity to play, and according to its inventor, the Janzi can do all that a piano can do...
