Nigerian author Sefi Atta on writing in a West African context
Nigerian author and playwright, Sefi Atta was a past winner of Âé¶¹Éç African Performance awards with "The Engagement" and "Makinwa's".
Her latest novel ‘The Bead Collector’ is set in Lagos in the late 1970s - a period of political turmoil.
She tells Focus on Africa of the stories behind the novel, and how her passion for African history and politics colours her writing.
