"A woman of firsts" is the name of the book written by the former First Lady of the self-proclaimed republic of Somaliland, Edna Adan Ismail. In this interview with Focus on Africa's Veronique Edwards, Edna reflects on her inspiring career as a midwife, as First Lady, and as an activist against the practice of Female Genital Mutilation.
