Tributes to Manu Dibango
African saxophone legend Manu Dibango has died in Paris after catching coronavirus.
He was best known for his 1972 hit Soul Makossa - which was sampled later in 1993 by the late Michael Jackson in his "Wanna be starting something" album and later by RNB singer Rihanna in her "Don't stop the music" single.
The 86-year-old fused jazz and funk music with traditional sounds from his home country, Cameroon.
Gino Sitson is a musicologist and an artist who started playing with Manu D'ibango in the 90s. He's just released an album - Echo Chamber in which the legend appeared, but according to Gino, he was much more.
