'We dont want people to start dropping like fleas'
Nigeria has 135 confirmed cases and two confirmed deaths of Covid-19 and in a bid to stem the spread, President Buhari announced a two week partial lockdown which started last night in Lagos, Abuja with Ogun state to follow suit on Friday. Lagos alone has an estimated 21 million people living in it, according to the state government. It鈥檚 thought two out of three people in the city live in a slum.
Neighbouring Oyo state is not yet under lockdown, but Akin Alabi, a member of the House of representatives for Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal Constituency In Oyo State believes it should be and has already started distributing some packages to those whose livelihoods have been affected.
