One of Nigerian drummer Tony Allen's last recordings
The pioneering Nigerian drummer Tony Allen, a co-founder of the afrobeat musical genre, died in Paris on 30 April aged 79. Before his passing he recorded a song with the France-born singer Audrey Gbaguidi aka YSEE who has Togolese and Beninois parents. The song is called Zelie and was originally performed by the famous Togolese singer Bella Bellow. Bola Mosuro has been speaking to YSEE about the song and working with Tony Allen on one of his final recordings.
