How one of Rwanda genocide men was captured in Paris after 26 years
On Saturday, the man accused of financing the Rwandan genocide of the Tutsi in 1994 was captured in Paris. The UN International residual mechanism for tribunals, set up at the end of the hearings in Arusha, said 84-year-old Felicien Kabuga was carefully tracked and traced across continents for several years. He is accused of supplying the money to buy the machetes that were used to kill up to 800 000 people. He is also said to have owned the notorious Radio Milles Collines, which incited the murders. Serge Brammertz is the Chief Prosecutor for the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals. He told Audrey Brown how they were finally able to capture Kabuga after nearly three decades.
