An Ethiopian in Beirut reacts to the explosions

We hear from Tsigreda Birhanu, an Ethiopian woman who has been a domestic worker in Lebanon for the past seven years, following the devastating double explosion on Tuesday 4th April. The blasts at Beirut鈥檚 port killed more than 100 people and injured more than 4,000. Tsigreda is also an activist with the organisation Enga Lenga Besidet, which works to protect the rights of domestic workers in Lebanon, who often face exploitative conditions under the kafala sponsorship system. She describes the commotion after the explosion, and says she initially thought it was an earthquake.
