Cameroon鈥檚 government won't allow Ebo Forest logging
Cameroon鈥檚 government has now reversed a decision that would have allowed industrial logging in one of central Africa鈥檚 least-exploited forests, after complaints from local communities and NGOs. People like the Banen rely on the Ebo Forest for their survival, and it forms a key element of their identity. It鈥檚 also home to previous wildlife such as rare gorillas, chimpanzees and giant frogs. Chief Victor Yetina tells Focus on Africa what the announcement means for the communities who live there.
