Maria Mutola, the nine-time former 800 metres World and Olympics champion from Mozambique, will contribute to WaterAid's mission of helping to improve resources for clean water, sanitation and hygiene across the continent.
She told Focus on Africa, that her approach to her new appointment is the same as it was in her athletic career: "You have to believe to succeed."
