Zimbabwe schools reopen without teachers
Zimbabwe reopened its schools today after a six-month closure, but most students went back to school only to find unattended classrooms, following a strike of teachers over pay conditions and lack of anti-COVID measures.
Dr. Takavafira Zhou is President of the Progressive Teachers Union of Zimbabwe. He says that the government needs to match the salaries of the teachers to current inflation levels.
