Now time to reflect on the glory bestowed on the architect David Adjaye. He was born to Ghanaian parents and has lived in various parts of the world including Tanzania and the UK. Sir David as he became when he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth the 2nd has just been made the first black recipient of the highest honour bestowed upon an architect in the UK, the Royal Gold Medal from the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

Sir David's works include monumental memorials like the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington.

He spoke to Focus on Africa's Audrey Brown and told her why he accepted the award.
