The African literary giant, J.P. Clark died on Tuesday at the age of 85.聽 The Nigerian聽poet聽and聽playwright, who also published as聽J. P. Clark聽and聽John Pepper Clark, was most noted for works in which he explored themes such as violence聽and聽protest, institutional聽corruption, European聽colonialism, the inhumanity of the human race as well as beauty in Nature. Fellow poet and academic Tanure Ojaide, Professor of Africana Studies at the University of North Carolina in Charlotte in the USA knew John Pepper Clark well and has written extensively on him. He's been telling Focus on Africa's Audrey Brown about his reaction to the death of J.P. Clark.
