HIV vaccine trial is “the first of its kind in East Africa”
Prof. Pontiano Kaleebu, Director of the Uganda Virus Research Institute, talks to Focus on Africa about a new HIV vaccine trial – the first of its kind in the East Africa region. He tells Esau Williams, “we’re very excited about this”, but cautions, “HIV is not as simple as Covid in terms of developing a vaccine”.
