A mobile grocery store delivering food to people right on their doorsteps
Inner city residents of Johannesburg in South Africa have access to a new kind of grocery store. It's a mobile bus service, called Skhaftin after the local slang word for 'lunchbox', it sells fresh and dry foods such as rice, beans and lentils. The idea originated during the pandemic as a way to let people access healthy and affordable food, without having to travel far from home. Journalist Taurai Maduna hopped onboard to find out more about it.
