Germany's First Black woman MP 'very honoured' to be elected
Growing up in Germany as the daughter of Eritrean parents, newly-elected MP Awet Tesfaiesus felt there would never be a chance for her to embark on a political career in a country that didn't have many black people in such roles. But after witnessing many racist attacks on people like her, she felt she had 'no other choice' but to change her life and work 'to change the system.'
