How 'fast fashion' is turning Ghana into a waste dumping ground

The second-hand clothing trade is a well-established business in Ghana. Traders rely on imports - generally from wealthier countries - to then resell them locally. But in recent years, the quality of incoming garments has deteriorated so much that nearly half of them are considered 'waste' and are thrown away. Thomas Naadi looks at where many fashion items end their life cycle and how the global fashion industry is turning Ghana into one of the major dumping grounds in West Africa.
