Nicola Adams: ‘Girls have been able to follow in my footsteps’
Nicola Adams OBE is officially Great Britain’s most successful female boxer of all time. She won gold at the London Olympics in 2012 and again in Rio in 2016, and is the only female boxer in the history of the sport to have won every major title available to her, including Olympic, World, European and Commonwealth. Her story features in the new Amazon Prime Video documentary Lioness: The Nicola Adams Story.
She joined Emma Barnett on Woman’s Hour to discuss her battles with sexism, racism and homophobia to get in the ring, and how she hopes her experiences will inspire future generations.
