Floods inundate South Sudan's Unity State
We've been reporting on the floods in South Sudan over recent months and the fact that they have been described as the worst ever in the last 70 years. The rainy season is supposed to have been over now - but the people are still not out of their misery.聽 The flood waters are just not relenting.聽 In fact, we are hearing that things are getting worse.聽 One area where things are particularly bad is Unity State. Many homes are inundated and people are on the move - in canoes or anything they can find that will float.聽 The same challenge is causing problems for relief agencies. Focus on Africa's Bola Mosuro has been speaking to Maryam Darwesh, Chief of Field Office with UNICEF in Bentiu in Unity State, who gave an idea of the scale of the problem.
