Sierra Leone's education minister: 'our history is based on quality education'
Since the start of the pandemic, millions of children have been forced out of classrooms. A new report by UNESCO states many sub-Saharan countries will not attain universal early childhood education by 2030. This is part of the Sustainable Development Goals. However Sierra Leone has received praise for transforming its education system, despite struggling to recover from severe disruption to education at different stages of its history through war, the ebola crisis and most recently the pandemic. Focus on Africa's Audrey Brown has been hearing about this success from Education Minister David Moinina Sengeh.
