In one of the most extraordinary nights in the history of the Oscars, the American actor Will Smith hit one of the presenters of the ceremony, Chris Rock, in the face. He then yelled obscenities, before a short time later going on to collect the Best Actor award. He strode onto the stage after Rock joked about the hairstyle of his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, who suffers from alopecia. Esau Williams got the recation of veteran Nigerian Comedian Ali Baba.
