Sophie Willan: ‘Why is your BAFTA called Julie?'
At the BAFTAs this year, actor and writer Sophie Willan won the Best Female Comedy Performance award for her role in Alma’s Not Normal, which she also wrote. The show is inspired by her own experiences of the care system.
She joined Emma Barnett on Â鶹Éç Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour to discuss her late grandmother, Denise Willan, who she dedicated her win to. She also told us why she named her BAFTAs Julie and Caroline, and how she celebrated after her big win.
