“It was not a protest but an act of terrorism” - Sierra Leone President
The authorities in Sierra Leone extend curfew after violent protests in Freetown and at least two towns in the north of the country known to be opposition strongholds. A cautious calm has returned but at least twenty seven people were killed including six police officers. Several police stations were burnt down. President Julius Maada Bio who was out of the country when the riots broke out has described them as an act of terrorism.
