Uganda school wins global prize
Focus on Africa鈥檚 Hassan Arouni speaks to Odong Charles Kigundi, headteacher of Wakadogo School in Gulu in Uganda. He tells us children at the school are over the moon after winning T4 Education鈥檚 World鈥檚 Best School Prize, and with it a share of $250,000. Wakadogo won in the category of 'overcoming adversity', as the school was built in the wake of Uganda鈥檚 conflict with the Lord's Resistance Army, and has gone on to educate hundreds of children, as well as providing free meals and healthcare.
