What is causing the floods in West & Central Africa?
With much of West and Central Africa currently enduring severe flooding, Professor Nelson Odume of the Institute for Water Research at Rhodes University in Grahamstown, South Africa speaks about what is causing the situation. He notes that while climate change is partly responsible, other factors such as building on flood plains and wetlands and deforestation are also contributing to the devastation.
