‘Reimagined’ globes explore the legacy of the slave trade
Dozens of giant globe sculptures expressing the transatlantic slave trade have been on a three-month tour across the UK, culminating in a final installation at London's Trafalgar Square.
The exhibition, entitled The World Reimagined, showcased the work of more than 100 artists, including many from the African diaspora, who each painted a globe with their representation of the history and legacy of the slave trade.
The project's artistic director, Ashley Shaw Scott Adjaye says the aim of the exhibition was to take visitors on a journey and draw attention to the experience of enslaved Africans and their impact on British history.
