Meta, the company that owns social media giant Facebook, has been accused in a lawsuit filed in Kenya of enabling the viral spread of hate and violence during Ethiopia's civil war. The case is being brought by two Ethiopians and Kenyan rights group the Katiba Institute. So far, Meta has not responded to the specific allegations, but the company insists it has invested heavily in technology and has robust measures in place to regulate content on its platform.
