"It is safe to have a baby if you have HIV"
In Kenya, a court has ruled in favour of a woman who was sterilised without her consent. She was HIV positive and underwent a procedure called tubal ligation at a private hospital. The woman - who is known as L-A-W did not find out about it until years later. She was told at a private clinic that she should not have any more children because her HIV status was dangerous to her babies. We hear from the woman at the centre of the case and Allan Maleche, the Executive Director of Kenya Legal and Ethical Issues Network on HIV and AIDS, who represented LAW in court.
