Kenyan TikTokker Dennis Ombachi, aka @theroamingchef, has been named as sub-Saharan Africa's overall top content creator on the platform.

The former Rugby Sevens player, who was a member of Kenya's 2016 Olympic squad, picked up the accolade at Africa's first-ever TikTok Top Creator awards, held in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.

He tells Focus on Africa's Sophie Ikenye, he never studied to be a chef but just developed his passion for cooking and before long, videos of him making dishes like butter chicken quickly raked up more than 30 million views.
