For the first time in his 19-year career, world renowned South African artist Nelson Makamo is showcasing a solo show of prints, many for the first time, in Cape Town. Makamo is best known for his charcoal and oil portraits of African children, the most famous of which graced the cover of Time magazine鈥檚 鈥淥ptimists鈥� issue in 2019. Mohammed Allie met up with Makamo in Cape Town and started by asking him about the reasoning behind the title of Variation Edition of Blue.
