Kenyan Wairimu Mukuru on converting to pre-colonial spirituality
Kenyan Wairimu Mukuru has put her journalism career on hold to teach her traditional Bantu language, Kikuyu,
and to create content for social platforms celebrating her culture's beliefs and practices.
She is part of what seems to be a growing trend of people reclaiming their older, more traditional belief systems which were suppressed and marginalised during colonial rule. She says she was raised as a Christian, but then started to delve into the spirituality of her ancestors.
